The legislative body took note of the resignation from the post of director of the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) tendered by Iulian Rusu, IPN reports.
Under the draft decision, the ending of the term in office of the NAC director leads to the ending of the term in office of the NAC deputy directors – Vadim Cojocaru and Alexandr Pînzari.
The decision takes effect when it is adopted.
In accordance with the legislation, the NAC director is named by Parliament by a majority of votes of MP for a five-year term. The candidate is proposed by at least 20 MPs with the assent of the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities.
