During the spring session of 2020, Parliament registered 350 legislative proposals, with 238 of them being put forward by MPs, IPN reports.
The Parliament’s General Communication and Public Relations Division said that 58 legislative proposals were submitted by the MPs of the PPPDA, 47 by the MPs of the PAS, 44 by the Socialist MPs, 21 by the PRO Moldova group, 19 by the Democratic MPs, 17 by the MPs of the Shor Party and four by the independent MPs.
Also, 27 legislative proposals were formulated by the Parliament’s Standing Bureau or by groups of MPs representing all the parliamentary groups.
The Government proposed 95 draft legislative acts for approval, while the President – 17 bills.
Of all the bills and proposals introduced into Parliament in the period, five, including a simple motion, didn’t enter the legislative procedure.
Under Article 73 of the Constitution, the right to formulate legislative proposals belongs to the MPs, the President of the Republic of Moldova, the Government and the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, which are considered authors of draft legislative acts or legislative proposals.
