The Parliament has recently passed the Strategy on strengthening the judicial system for 2007-2008.
According to the document, the strengthening of the judicial system by ensuring the independence, impartiality, credibility and efficiency is an indispensable condition for the rule of law and for its principles.
The Strategy is based on three directions: guaranteeing the independence and impartiality of the judicial system; ensuring the transparency of justice; improving the judicial procedures; spurring the efficiency and responsibility of the judicial system; providing free access to justice, improving the system for minors; strengthening the business environment and preventing and combating corruption in the judicial system.
The provisions of the Strategy are backed by the Action Plan which describes in detail the measures for fulfilling the aforementioned commitments, the implementation deadlines, the responsible institutions, as well as the evaluation indexes of these actions’ implementation.
