Members of the Building Europe at Home Party (PACE) will donate a lot of 83,000 protective masks to all those who need, in medical communities, to patients and those who cannot buy them, but want to obey the COVID-19 protective measures by wearing a mask. The PACE record mask will be transmitted to a museum in Ialoveni, IPN quoted members of the party as saying in a news conference.

PACE secretary general Nadejda Tatarciuc said the huge mask was stretched in the central square of Chisinau in respect and gratitude for the medical personnel who for the second year have worked in extreme conditions to protect the people in times of pandemic. “We are proud that we managed to render homage to our heroes. We did this not for politic advantages or PR. We decided to donate this mask to the collections gallery “For Costin” of the Ialoveni District Council. All those who want to see how the mask that was put in the Book of Records looks like can visit the given museum,” stated Nadejda Tatarciuc.

Denis Roșca, first vice president of the party, said the history of the record mask started on November 22, 2020, when PACE members wrote to four agencies that register records for this intention. In a month, they received a response in which the conditions they were to be met were explained. As a result, there was created a mask that is 28 meters wide and 45 meter long.

PACE co-founder Alexandru Grumeza, who is a doctor, said that the mask was the only efficient element for fighting infection with COVID-19 during the pandemic year. To prove that it wasn’t only a demonstrative gesture, the PACE decided to make a donation of 83,000 face masks as the record mask is equal in size to this number of standard masks.

On May 1, the Building Europe at Home Party attracted intentional attention after its members created the biggest protective mask in the world, which they exhibited in central Chisinau.
