Over half of Chisinau education institutions ready for new school year

The largest part of the schools and kindergartens in Chisinau finished repairing the roofs, the heating systems and sanitary facilities and are ready for the new season. According to the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, the other institutions will be ready by September 1. At Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, Tverdohleb said that the heating systems have been washed in 85% of the institutions. The classrooms are also 85% ready. They have been repaired with the help of the Parent Associations. The corridors, gymnasiums, festivity halls and canteens are revamped with money from the budgets of the education divisions, while in suburban areas with money allocated by the local mayors’ offices. The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport is now preparing the Municipal Teachers’ Conference that will take place at the National Opera House on August 20, starting at 10.00.
