A number of 861 militiamen will ensure security at the Russian President’s Cup horserace that will be held in Moscow “ later today. All the CIS heads of state have been invited to the horserace, but only five of them accepted, including Moldova’s outgoing president Vladimir Voronin, Info-Prim Neo reports. At a news conference earlier, Vladimir Voronin said that the horserace in Moscow is an occasion for an informal CIS summit and that he will discuss urgent issues with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev. A five-year English thoroughbred horse from Moldova will take part in the race for the first time. Twelve thoroughbred horses aged older than four will enter the 2,400 m race. The presidents of Azerbaijan (Ilham Aliyev), Armenia (Serzh Sargsyan), Moldova (Vladimir Voronin), Kazakhstan (Nursultan Nazarbayev) and Tajikistan (Emomali Rahmonov) are expected to Moscow.
