Over 6 thousand consumers from seven localities in the Ialoveni district and one in the Hancesti district were left without natural gas yesterday due to the damage of a gas pipeline. Repair works will be carried out today and consumers are warned to turn off their taps and wait for the arrival of a company representative to resume gas supply, IPN reports.
Rotalin Gaz company says that on Sunday, around 16:30, during the execution of uncoordinated excavation works by a third-party organization near the locality of Fundul Galbenei, Hâncesti rayon, a high-pressure inter-communal gas pipeline D163 was damaged.
Consumers in Fundul Galbenei and seven other villages in Ialoveni district were left without natural gas: Bardar, Pojareni, Rusestii Noi, Vasieni, Ulmu, Danceni and Sociteni.
"Currently, the emergency situation has been remedied by our company's intervention team. Several localities, about 6000 consumers have been affected. It should be noted that at the moment there is no threat to life and health. All relevant services have been informed about the incident in accordance with the Emergency Situations Localization Plan," a press release reads.
"In all seriousness, we ask the residents of the affected localities where gas supply is planned to be resumed to turn off the taps before the gas appliances and wait for the arrival of a company representative for gas supply resumption," the company warns.
