On the first day of the launch of the platform compensatii.gov.md, over 50,000 applications for compensation for energy resources were submitted, and the authorities estimate that the figure will increase in the coming days. The amount of compensation will be set at the end of November or the beginning of December. Payments will also be made then, IPN reports.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu at a press briefing said that this year the compensation is granted in monetary form. The money will be transferred to the applicant's bank card or to the post office. "The compensation will be determined based on specific criteria related to each household. We refer to the overall income of the family, the number of household members, etc. The information about the size of compensation will be available at the end of Novembe or the beginning of December, when it will be paid. The Cabinet is to approve a decision in this regard and we will provide more details later," said the minister.

Corina Ajder, secretary of state of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, said that the compensation system is connected to 11 databases of state authorities (such as the State Tax Service and the Border Police), but also to private databases (credit bureaus or suppliers). Thus, the data indicated by the applicant for compensation will be compared with the data from those databases. Not only salary income will be verified, but also over 20 other types, such as income from dividends, from the rental of spaces or apartments, income earned by individuals through various activities, etc. Also, the data from the National House for Social Insurance, including those on pensions and allowances, will be checked.

Allowances for children, such as the one-time childbirth allowance and child benefit, will be excluded from the income. "We check them to exclude them from the income. Families with young children are favored in the calculation of compensation as a higher number of minors involves even larger household expenses. Disability status will also be checked. A person with a severe disability incurs more expenses and thus status favors the person when calculating the compensation," stated Corina Ajder.

The information about the members of the household will be compared with the data of the Public Property Agency. An IDNP number can only appear in one application. Another condition for benefiting from compensation is that the person should live in the Republic of Moldova most of the time.
