More than 4,000 applications to enroll children in the first grade have been submitted by parents in the municipality of Chisinau since April 1, when the process started. The first enrolment stage ends on June 10. A total of 10,000 places are now available, including at private education institutions, said Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport. The results of the first stage will be made public on June 13, IPN reports.
“A number of problems were ascertained. Some of the parents cannot identify the school district according to the domicile address. Also, some of the parents do not find the confirmation message as most of the times this is classed as spam email. At the same time, some of the parents do not know the list of documents that need to be attached to the application. The file should include the copy of the identity card of one of the parents and the copy of the child’s birth certificate. The full file, together with medical certificates, is presented on September 1, when the child comes to the institution,” Andrei Pavaloi stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services.
Children from outside the school district and those who didn’t turn seven can be enrolled at the second stage that starts on June 14. The results of the second stage will be posted on August 30.
Andrei Pavaloi called on the parents to register exclusively online, according to the procedure, and not to go to the institution and try to reach an agreement with the principal. The documents in the original and the medical certificates will be presented in September, when the school year starts.
