In the second round of general local elections, 40.34% of voters registered on the electoral rolls have participated. Shortly after 21.00, when the polling stations closed, the number of voters was over 647 thousand. In Chisinau municipality, the turnout constituted almost 38%, IPN reports.
In the second round, women were more active as compared to men, the ratio being 54.28% to 45.72%. As for the age category, the most active were voters aged between 56 and 70 (34.31%). This age category is followed by voters between the ages of 41 and 55 (25.09%). The following categories are: 26 and 40 years - 23.26%, 71 years and more - 10.75% and 18-25 years - 6.59%.
In the first round of elections, the turnout was of 42%.
