More than 314,000 electors voted in the November 19 elections. This is a voter turnout of 36.7%. In all the 273 localities where a runoff vote was held, the election threshold was passed. Consequently, the elections in all the localities are valid, the chairwoman of the Central Election Commission Angelica Caraman stated in a press briefing.

In eight localities, the elections to the local councils were rerun and in six of these the people also elected their mayors. A very low turnout of voters was recorded in
Nicolaevca commune of Florești district – 13.88%, Aluatu, Taraclia – 11.73%, Salcia, Taraclia – 12.05%, Cotovscoe, ATU Gagauzia  – slightly over 3% and Chioselia Rusă, ATU Gagauzia – 0.33%. No election threshold is imposed for rerun elections. The elections are validated regardless of the turnout of voters.

Before the polls closed, 140 violations or incidents were reported. Most of these (45) refer to the organized transportation of voters, including in Corjova village of Dubăsari district. There were recorded 27 cases of photographing of the ballot, with one ballot being damaged, 26 cases of campaigning and five cases of voter corruption. All the cases are being examined by the General Police Inspectorate.

The candidate who polls most of the votes in the runoffs is considered the winner. If the votes gained by two candidates are equal, the candidate with the largest number of votes in the first round of voting is declared the winner. If the candidates in the first round also obtained an equal number of voters, the district electoral council will hold a draw. In the case of the two localities where only one candidate is running, this candidate is considered elected if the person gained at least half of the votes cast in that locality.

In 2019, the turnout in the runoffs was 38%.
