More than 300 oxygen concentrators were supplied to national hospitals and put into operation to ensure a continuous flow of oxygen to the brains of persons infected with COVID-19. The announcement was placed on the official website of the World Health Organization, IPN reports.
Sofia Alexandru, director of the Phthisiopneumology Institute “Kirill Draganiuc”, said these devices are of major importance in the treatment of persons with lung diseases. “The oxygen concentrators are indispensable in the treatment of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, who need immediate oxygen support for the vital functions of the body to be maintained,” stated Sofia Alexandru.
The concentrators were delivered to Moldova by the European Union and the World Health Organization as part of the EU Solidarity for Health Initiative.
