A number of 202 young people have signed guarantee contracts within the “First House” program so far. Another seven applications were accepted and the contracts are to be signed, while 14 applications are being examined, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.
The apartments purchased as part of the program total over 13,000 square meters in area. An apartment is 58 square meters in area on average. The average value of a bought apartment is 543,000 lei.
Most of the beneficiaries are young families, while about one third are unmarried young people. The average age of the applicants is 31.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the total value of the released home loans is 104.7 million lei, while of guarantees is 52.3 million lei. The minimum rate of interest on the bank loans is 6.07%.
The state program “First House” was launched on the initiative of Prime Minister Pavel Filip on March 26 this year. Later, as part of the project, special advantageous concessions were announced for public functionaries and recently for families with children. The latter will receive compensations of 10% to 100% of the apartment’s price.
