Over 20% of voters have cast their ballots by 13.00

Over 332 thousand voters, representing more than 20.74% of the total number on the rolls, voted until 13.00 in the second round. The turnout is similar to the one on October 20, when by this time, the turnout was of 20%. In Chisinau municipality, today, November 3, almost 17% have voted so far - over 107 thousand voters, compared to over 14%, on October 20, IPN reports.

At a press briefing, the chair of the Central Election Commission, Dorin Cimil, has said that the highest voter presence is registered in Dereneu settlement in Calarasi district, the turnout at the moment being of 44%. The town with the lowest participation is Florești, where over 12% of the voters went to the polls. In the capital, the most active are voters in Rascani sector - 17%, while at the opposite pole are voters in Ciocana sector, with a turnout of over 14%.

Dorin Cimil has mentioned that so far there have been several incidents related to the organized transportation of voters and electoral campaigning in the proximity of the polling stations. The CEC head, who did not reveal details of the cases, said they were examined by the police.

As regards the presence at the polling stations, by 13.00, women have been more active compared to men, the ratio constituting 52.06% to 47.94%. At the same time, the most active - 41.20% - are voters between the ages of 56 and 70. This age category is followed by citizens between the ages of 41 and 55 - 24.26%. The following categories are 26 and 40 years - 17.80%, 71 years and more - 12.01% and 18-25 years - 4.73%.

Election campaigning is strictly forbidden today. It is not allowed to conduct activities or reflect materials with electoral campaigning intent. The appearance of the candidates on television or radio programs is also prohibited.

The polling stations are open until 21.00.
