More than 1,300 people have registered in advance to vote in the October 20 presidential election and the constitutional referendum on joining the European Union. The most active ones are the Moldovan citizens in Germany, Romania, Italy, the United States, and France, IPN reports.

“We remind all those who have relatives, close relations, acquaintances abroad and who want to register in advance to do so on the platform of the Central Election Commission,” the Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă told a press conference.

The preregistration for the presidential election and the national constitutional republican of October 20 is underway for citizens with the right to vote who settled abroad.

Preregistration is one of the three criteria used by the Central Election Commission to decide the number of polling stations that will be established abroad. The deadline for preregistration is September 6.

To be able to vote by mail, the voter must preregister, including with the option of registration for postal voting. Postal voting is an alternative method of voting with the use of postal services in the U.S., Canada, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland.
