Activists and supporters of the “Our Party” went on a march from the Circus to the Great National Assembly Square, with the party’s leader Renato Usatyi, who is running for the mayoralty of Balti town, and Iulian Casu, who is a candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau, heading the column.  The event was electoral in character and was entitled “For fair elections”, IPN reports.

The participants in the march moved along Grigore Vieru Blvd, on one lane, and then along Banulescu-Bodoni St, where the traffic was halted. These chanted slogans amid Russian patriotic songs played by an orchestra that led the column. When in the Great National Assembly Square, the marchers sang the national anthem.

Renato Usatyi said the march involved those who know that the human rights and freedoms can be protected only by resistance and protest against the oligarchic regime. “This event is against lie, demagogy, illegalities and against those who should leave the government once and for all because only the people should manage this state,” he said.

Ilian Casu said those who took part in the march are not only supporters or members of the “Our Party”. They are also ordinary people who came to demand free and fair elections, in accordance with the law. “We are concerned because we think the government is capable of anything. If the authorities do not remove somebody from the race, they are tempted to commit frauds because they lost people’s confidence,” he stated.
