The exhibition of the painter Ecaterina Ajder has launched on Wednesday, November 29, at the office of OSCE Mission. The exhibition named “Flori dalbe” (Lily-white Flowers) consists of about 60 oil paintings and tapestry articles.
It is a chamber exhibition with a special reference to traditional Moldovan symbols from the Christmas holidays’ period. By participating in exhibitions at OSCE, the Moldovan artists take advantage from the fact that they are known by art lovers both from the country and abroad, Ajder said. She expressed her particular appreciation for the efforts of the OSCE representative, Antonia de Meo, who contributes to the promotion of the Moldovan painters.
Ecaterina Ajder graduated from the Republican College of Graphic Arts “A. Plamadeala”, serving at present as lecturer at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the “Ion Creanga” University. She is also a member of the Union of Graphic Artists from Moldova. Her works have been displayed repeatedly at personal and group exhibitions in the R. of Moldova and abroad: in Russia, Romania, Germany, Spain, Ukraine, France, Israel, Venezuela etc.
OSCE Mission has been organizing such exhibitions for several years; at the beginning – thanks to the fact that some members of the mission were personally interested in art, later this became a tradition. The selection criteria for artists are rather formal, the single condition being that the works should fit the professional atmosphere of the mission. At the same time, unofficially, the mission tries to promote the interests of the artists so that their works arouse commercial interest, the list containing the prices for paintings being also exposed in the office’s hall.
Over the last 2 years, about 30 exhibitions of this kind have been organized at the Mission’s office.
