Moldova is the country with the worse government and with the poorest indexes of social-economic development in the region, Serafim Urecheanu, the leader of “Moldova Noastra” Alliance mentioned in a speech delivered from the central tribune of the Parliament. The AMN leader outlined in his speech the failures of the present government. He mentioned that the Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper, the programme on the construction of gas pipes, and other important projects for Moldova have been compromised. According to the forecasts of the International Monetary Fund, Moldova will be the only country in the region that will register a drop in the GDP per capita in 2007 and will register a misbalance between the economic development of Moldova and other countries of the region. According to Urecheanu, the experts estimate a very modest economic growth in agriculture this year, of only 1.8%. The industry will register negative figures – it will diminish by 5% compared with 2005. The balance of trade deficit will exceed USD 1.6 bln. The high inflation rate and the speculations as regards the currency exchange rate imperil the economic growth and will diminish exports. An inflation rate of 13% is expected until the end of the year. It is based on the boost in prices for the energy resources, and the consumer goods. The decrease of the economic production spurs the imports that replace domestic products. The statistic of wage increase (both in the public and private sector) is affected by a negative tendency – the wage debts are growing. They constituted MDL 135 mln in late November, by over MDL 21 mln more compared with July 2006. In the end of his speech, Urecheanu said that Vladimir Voronin, the one who controls the whole governing process in an authoritative and abusive manner is the main responsible person for the bad results of the government.
