The government’s actions in winemaking and winegrowing, in pharmaceutics and patent-based entrepreneurship are not accidental but well-planned and well-though, with the participation of the Government, of the majority parliamentary group and its satellites from the Parliament, Dumitru Braghis, president of the Social Democracy Party (PDS), told a news conference on Monday, March 5.
According to Braghis, these actions are intended to eliminate a large number of economic agents from the market in favour of “representatives of the Family” or of circles close to the governors, and to create favourable conditions for them to develop their businesses, without taking into account the majority of Moldovan citizens.
In this connection, the MP mentioned the Government’s decision to ban the export of wine in bulk, which hinders the activity of practically all the wine factories. The same decision made the Belarus authorities recommend the economic agents to renounce importing Moldovan wine products in bottles. Given the suspension of wine exports to Russia, this would result in the halt in Moldovan wine exports and in the bankruptcy of the wine producers and winegrowers. The aim of these actions is to cheapen the wine factories and vineyards so that these are bought at ridiculously low prices by certain persons afterwards, Braghis says.
The PDS leader says that other sectors of the national economy witness a similar situation. The ban on patent-based entrepreneurial activity aims at helping the great oligarchs and owners of supermarkets to conquer the market. The activity of small family pharmacies is constrained so as to favor chains of drugstores that belong to persons close to the Government, Braghis adds.
Dumitru Braghis demanded that the government give up such actions, which, as he says, endanger Moldova’s economic security.
