Alcoholic beverage producers interested in importing bulk wine as raw material are required to hold a license, the National Food Safety Agency says.
As per the Law on authorization of entrepreneurial activity, import and storage of ethyl alcohol, import, storage and wholesale marketing of alcoholic products and/or imported beer, the importer is required to hold a license. Imports of bulk wine also fall under the scope of these provisions.
When importing ethyl alcohol and alcohol products, economic agents shall present the import license to the customs authorities, in addition to other required documents. The National Agency for Food Safety warns operators that import bulk wine to complete the necessary documents in accordance with the provisions of the Moldovan legislation.
