The president of the foundation “Open Dialog” Ludmila Kozlowska didn’t come to the hearings planned by the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases for February 15, to which she was summoned. Deputy chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office Vitalie Busuioc has told IPN that if he person was on Moldova’s territory, this would be brought by force. But Ludmila Kozlowska is not in Moldova.

The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases accepts the reasons for the non-presentation in Chisinau from the bodies through which Ludmila Kozlowska was cited. “She could have informed them or us that she was unable to come at the indicated hour and could have asked for another hour or date to be set so that she could come with her lawyer. When our colleagues tell us that she is not on the territory of the country where we summoned her is one situation and it is another situation when she simply refused to take part, for example,” explained Vitalie Busuioc. Depending on the answer, a decision will be taken about the developments in this case.

According to the conclusions of the commission of inquiry constituted by Parliament last year, the foundation “Open Dialog” was financed implicitly with money obtained through the money laundering scheme “Laundromat” and the banking fraud committed in Moldova. This is also suspected of offering illegal financing to the Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and their leaders. In Chisinau, Ludmila Kozlowska was to be questioned in a criminal case started over laundering of money by an organized group, espionage and illegal funding of parties, violation of the method of managing the financial resources of political parties or electoral funds. She was first summoned on December 27, 2018, when she also didn’t present herself. Ludmila Kozlowska wrote then on social networking sites that she didn’t receive the citation in person and found out about it through the Internet.
