The Ministry of Health aims to implement the online scheduling of appointments with the family doctor in all the medical institutions of the country by the middle of next year. The mechanism is being worked out by two companies from Romania and one Moldovan company. The total cost of the project is 19 million lei.
Contacted by IPN, head of the e-Transformation Service of the Ministry of Health Alexandru Rosioru said there was created a system for digitizing all the processes inside primary medicine. Thus, absolutely all the actions, starting with the registration and continuing with the direction and collection of data and creation of the patient’s electronic file will be performed electronically.
One of the services incorporated into this system is online making of appointments with the family doctor. Any persons will be able to schedule a meeting with the doctor through the website that will be launched. The results of laboratory analyses will be also available there.
The service will be administered by a Romanian consultancy company until the end of 2015. In 2016 it will be transferred under the management of subdivisions of the Ministry of Health.
The e-health strategy that is to be submitted to the Government for approval envisions the creation of a secured communication platform for state institutions. The platform will enable the personal data to circulate between different state institutions, for example from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of the Interior.
