Video images of a woman who is violently assaulting her child aged only one year and two months appeared in the public space. The police said that they were informed about this case a few days ago by the child's father. As part of the investigations, the court issued a protection order prohibiting the woman from approaching the child and the cohabitant. The girl was placed in a rehabilitation center for young children, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate noted that the child's father told the police that he had detected bruises on his little girl's body for several times. That's why he installed a monitoring app on his cohabitant’s phone and a video recording camera in the child's room.

"When the man was sure that the little girl was mistreated, he called the police. Specialists of the Police’s Family Justice Center immediately intervened and took all the actions to examine the case multilaterally and fully ensure the necessary assistance. The intervention of a judicial expert and of a forensic doctor was also requested. The father and the child were safely accommodated at the Center, where they were offered all the necessary support," said the Inspectorate.

Subsequently, the child was placed in a rehabilitation center for young children. As for the mother, the Centru Court of Chisinau City issued a protection order by which she was banned from approaching the child and the cohabitant for a period of 90 days.

A criminal case was started to establish all the circumstances.

Contacted by the press for a comment, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu said that this case is under the management of the municipal authorities. "Violence against children certainly remains a problem. That's why efforts are being made to strengthen the system so that there are more child protection specialists on the front line... At the beginning of this year, there were 2,700 children that the system monitored much more closely. Now the figure rose to almost 12,000 and we continue this effort so as to supervise as many children at risk as possible, to prevent such situations and intervene much more promptly. Violence against every child is a great tragedy," stated the minister.
