Police teams will monitor whether, in the second round of the presidential elections, people coming to vote are not being offered or promised money by those involved in the electoral corruption scheme, reports IPN. At least one police team will be stationed at each polling station.

In the first round, individuals who heard about possible vote-buying attempts mistook Promo-LEX observers for people offering financial incentives in exchange for a specific electoral choice.

After the end of the first round of elections, presidential candidate Maia Sandu stated that approximately 300,000 votes may have been fraudulently cast.

Meanwhile, over the past two weeks, numerous searches have taken place across Moldova in connection with the electoral corruption case.

On Saturday, the General Inspectorate of Police announced that it had conducted criminal investigations in Chișinău and Rîșcani, where supporters of Shor allegedly promised money in exchange for votes against a particular candidate. Several of these individuals are now in preventive detention as part of the extensive ongoing investigations.
