The accident near the Circus, in which a motorist drove his car into a trolleybus full with passengers, followed another accident that involved a trolleybus running on route a day earlier. A public transport unit rear-ended a car. From the images that captured the moment of impact, it can be seen that the trolleybus catches up and hits the car that was trying to turn right, towards a parking lot.
Contacted by IPN for details, spokeswoman for the Chisinau Electric Transport Company Felicia Rusu said that the accident occurred on September 18 on Alba Iulia St in Buiucani district of the capital city.
“The trolleybus was running on route No. 22 and at the time of impact it was moving legally, when another traffic participant created an accident situation, which led to the collision,” stated Felicia Rusu.
At the time of the accident, there were around 35 passengers in the trolleybus. According to the Chisinau Electric Transport Company, no one was hurt. Preliminarily, it was established that the driver of the car was to blame for the accident.
