On November 3, the second round of elections will be held in 380 settlements

On November 3, the second round of general local elections will be held in 380 settlements of the country. The chair of the Central Election Commission, Dorin Cimil, has announced this at a press briefing, IPN reports.

In the second round the PSRM will have 175 candidates, ACUM DA PAS Electoral Bloc–167, the Liberal Party -44, while Şor Political Party – 38. 20 candidates will represent Our Party, 16 - the Communist Party, and 86 people are independent candidates.

In the first round, mayors were elected in 518 localities. 191 mayors are from the Democratic Party, 124 represent the Socialist Party. ACUM DA PAS Electoral Bloc has 82 mayors, the Liberal Democrat Party -26, Sor Political Party -13, Our Party -10. Four mayors in the first round are from the Communist Party, two represent the Party of National Unity. The Romanian Popular Party and the Liberal Party have one mayor each. 64 elected mayors have been running as independent candidates.

Dorin Cimil has also said that in 20 settlements the candidates for the mayor positions have accumulated 100% of the votes because on the ballots only one electoral contender was listed.

In the general local elections on October 20, 1,173,834 citizens with voting rights or 41.68% have participated.
