Municipal projects, including those carried out with the support of foreign partners, as well as the activities of Municipal Youth Centers were presented at the Chisinau City Hall’s two tents put up in connection with Europe Day. The pavilions were located in the European Village in the Great National Assembly Square, where municipal officials answered questions and provided assistance to citizens. A special box was set up for visitors to drop suggestions there, IPN reports.
Deputy mayor of Chisinau Olga Ursu said that information was presented about large projects related to road infrastructure, waste management, water and sewerage. A separate tent was dedicated to projects and programs for young people. “We can openly explain to everyone what Chisinau has done on its European path, what projects have already been implemented and also those that we are going to implement with the support of the business partners,” stated Olga Ursu.
The persons who visited the City Hall’s tents had the opportunity to learn about energy efficiency of lyceums, kindergartens and hospitals in Chisinau. There were presented new services in the field of child protection, projects that were developed with the support of UNICEF Moldova, with the financial support of the European Union. “Only together can we develop the city, can have a friendly, safe, inclusive city and a city where everyone feels at home,” said another deputy mayor of Chisinau, Angela Kutasevich.
Representatives of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports provided additional information about the programs and services available in the fields of education, youth and sports, including about the activities of the Municipal Center for Adult Learning and Education in Chisinau - the first innovative educational hub for adults.
The children had a creative area where, together with volunteers of Municipal Youth Centers and the Municipal Library “B. P. Hasdeu”, they drew, played chess with champions and took part in competitions. Students from educational institutions of the municipality of Chisinau presented cultural and artistic programs on the stage in the central square of Chisinau.
The tents of the Chisinau City Hall were also visited by European officials.
At present, Chisinau has a portfolio of projects to the value of about 3 billion lei, which have been carried out with the support of the development partners.
