Premier Vasile Tarlev requested the decision bodies to simplify as much as possible the country entry procedure for foreign citizens on the Day of Wine, scheduled for October 7-8 this year. The head of the Executive also ordered to cancel all foreign guests’ personal luggage carry restriction for Moldovan.
This request was done by the Premier after the Government meeting on Wednesday approved a legislative bill regarding free visits for 30 days for all participants to this holiday, twice as much as last year.
During a meeting regarding the Day of Wine holiday organization, the prime-minister declared that this celebration is a good opportunity to promote local wine companies, considering that the festivities will be attended by tourists and economic agents from several countries.
45 local economic agents from the wine sector have already declared they will take part in the event, as well as guests from approx. 60 countries. The celebrations will also guest participants of the public alimentation network, craftsmanship centers, artistic and folk bands. Considerable manifestations will take place in all regions of the country.
The National Day of Wine is traditionally celebrated in the second Sunday of October. The first edition of this holiday took place in 2002 and is intended to promote the Republic of Moldova as a wine producer and tourist site.
