The shortening of the path to European funds by the Republic of Moldova is possible only with the help of counterparts from Romania. In this connection, the relations between the two states need to be strengthened at all levels, Oleg Canațui, a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, stated in a public debate hosted by IPN News Agency.

According to the MP, in order to succeed in accessing European funds and developing the health systems on both banks of the Prut, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation between the ministries of Romania and Moldova. Also, there is a need for broader cooperation between medical institutions, but also between doctors from the two states.

Oleg Canațui said that Romania can be an example in the attraction of European funds because it already went through that stage and learned on the way. It is easier for Moldova because it can learn from Romania.

The MP urged the Moldovan medical institutions to compare the projects that they will submit with the projects that were already submitted by Romanian institutions so as to better absorb and use the European funds that will come in the European integration process.

Oleg Canațui noted that both Parliament and the specialized parliamentary commission have been open to any initiative that can lead to the improvement of the health system of the the Republic of Moldova.

The public debate entitled “Cooperation in healthcare sector between entities from both banks of the Prut River in order to absorb European funds in mixed Moldovan-Romanian teams” was the 14th installment of the project “Double integration through cooperation and information. Continuity”, funded by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova. The content of this debate does not represent the official position of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova.
