CEC to total referendum results Friday

The Central Election Commission is to centralize today, October 25, the results of the national constitutional referendum on joining the EU of October 20 and to also approve the report on the organization and conduct of the referendum. The issues are on the agenda of the Commission’s meeting scheduled for 05:00 p.m., IPN reports.

Under the Electoral Code, after the Commission examines the results of the national referendum, it adopts a decision on it. Subsequently, within 24 hours, the CEC submits a report on the results of the referendum to the Constitutional Court.

Within 10 days, the Constitutional Court examines the documents submitted by the Central Election Commission and validates or invalidates, by a decision, the outcome of the national plebiscite.

In the referendum, according to the CEC’s preliminary data, 751,235 electors voted "Yes" and 737,639 electors voted "No".
