We assume governance and are fully prepared to govern the Republic of Moldova, to provide the country’s citizens with an alternative government starting tomorrow. This is the message of the candidate of the Political Bloc “Together” Octavian Țîcu, who launched his campaign for the October 20 presidential election, IPN reports.
“We have always advocated strengthening the pro-European forces and, together with the “Together” bloc, we will strengthen the pro-European and unionist forces in a way that has never been done before. And I urge the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to trust this consolidation, to come with us, regardless of whether they believe in the future of the Republic of Moldova as a European state or in the union with Romania, as this is not the most important issue on the agenda. It doesn’t matter how distant or close an ideal is. What matters is how important fidelity to this ideal is and we must faithfully follow this consolidation,” said Octavian Țîcu.
The candidate, together with his team, aims to do justice, which, according to him, would mean “fair bills and prices”, and also to stop, at all costs, the return of oligarchic forces financed by the Russian Federation, by “punishing corrupt politicians and those who benefit from illegal financing in the election campaign and in the destabilization of the Republic of Moldova.”
Octavian Țîcu also said that European integration is the first commitment of his program – the main development course of the Republic of Moldova. It will be achieved by assuming and implementing the integration criteria by respecting the principles of democracy, through free and fair elections, the rule of law, respect for human rights and freedom of the press.”We want the accelerated adoption of the acquis communautaire, of the set of primary and secondary legislation, of the European norms and policies assumed through the status of EU accession country. That’s why we placed the idea of integration above our political selfishness and support this referendum of October 20,” said Octavian Țîcu, urging the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to come to the polls and vote for European integration.
The candidate also said that a strong and diverse economy is the key to a prosperous life at home. This goal can be achieved by supporting domestic producers in all sectors of the economy, through tax breaks, preferential loans and access to export markets in the European Union and in the world.
Octavian Țîcu noted that education, healthcare, research, culture and sport are areas of national interest for the Republic of Moldova, specifying that there is a need for well-paid staff motivated to work. There is a need for education connected to European and Romanian principles. “We want to be by Romania’s side in the European Union. We share with Romania the same space of history, language and culture. We see Romania as our main partner and ally on the path of European integration,” stated the candidate.
