Octavian Țîcu is “Together” political bloc’s candidate for President

The political bloc “Together” designated its candidate for the October 20 presidential elections. The four parties that are part of the bloc, the Platform “Dignity and Truth” (PPDA), the League of Cities and Communes (LOC), the Party of Change (PS) and the Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB), nominated historian Octavian Țîcu as their candidate, IPN reports, referring to a short press release of the DA Platform.

According to information posted on social media platforms, the four political parties, through a closed vote, designated Octavian Țîcu as their common candidate for President.
Currently, historian Octavian Țîcu, former deputy and former president of the National Unity Party, is a member of no party.

To date, a number of public figures have announced their intention to run for President of the Republic of Moldova, including incumbent President Maia Sandu; former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo; former chairman of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” Andrei Năstase; “Our Party” chairman Renato Usatyi; chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova Vlad Filat; former Prime Minister Ion Chicu; former Foreign Minister Tudor Ulianovschi; journalist Natalia Morari; former Governor of the Territorial Administrative Unit of Gagauzia Irina Vlah; former prosecutor Victoria Furtună; deputy chairman of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) Stefan Savitski; former Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, doctor habilitate in constitutional law Alexandru Arseni; former Minister of Defense Valeriu Pleșca, supported by the European Social Democratic Party, and nonaffiliated MP Vasile Bolea, supported by “Victory” bloc.
