Parliament will give its vote of confidence to the Government headed by Pavel Filip even if this candidate was fielded by a parliamentary coalition that was formed illegally, political analyst Oazu Nantoi stated in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
“Plahotniuc should be grateful to the Constitutional Court for its decision taken at the end of last December. It was clear that this scenario would be followed. Regardless of what Filip says, particular stereotypes appeared in Moldova. When public opinion was concerned about the candidacy of Plahotniuc, it was clear that if the parliamentary coalition was formed, the PDM’s candidate will become the next Prime Minister,” said the analyst.
According to Nantoi, by obtaining the nomination of Pavel Filip for the post of Prime Minister, the PDM took control of the executive. “Until recently, the PDM and PLDM shared portfolios. The Democratic Party will now govern by itself. The Liberal Party will manage probably several ministers,” stated the analyst.
Oazu Nantoi noted the Filip Government will be an illegal one. “Many people think this Government will not have legitimacy. The people didn’t vote for this in November 2014. It’s impossible to make political forecasts in Moldova based on political considerations only,” he stated.
