MP Oazu Nantoi, of the ACUM/PAS group, says the de-oligarchization process has proved to be much more difficult than it seemed on June 8, when the alliance founding agreement between PSRM and ACUM bloc was signed. In an interview for Radio Free Europe, the parliamentarian says that the system created by the former PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc is opposing the process, IPN reports.
According to Oazu Nantoi, Vlad Plahotniuc "took care that some structures of the captive state have a legal cover which would make it difficult for outside interference, including for the noble purpose of purifying the system". He also says that currently the ACUM Bloc parties are at the stage of finding common language with PSRM on a concept for the justice system reform.
The parliamentarian also says it is too early to talk about fulfilling the commitment to de-oligarchize the country. "It requires a scrupulous process, based on responsibility towards citizens, with public outings, but also with concrete results, avoiding the potential dissensions and divergences, which are not very useful," Oazu Nantoi said.
Asked about the opportunity of signing a renewed agreement with PSRM, on which the latter insists, the deputy says that he must first see what the Socialists have in mind, because "it is one thing to declare that you love the people and a totally different thing is to uproot, to dismantle the mafia schemes inherited from the past, and to ensure that business can develop freely and social projects expected by Moldova’s voters can find a viable source based on the national economy.”
Oazu Nantoi says that the resolution of PSRM Extraordinary Congress, which states the termination of the Association Agreement with the EU, must be brought forward. At the same time, Oazu Nantoi maintains "there are still question marks concerning Moldova’s federalization."
