Those who fasted during the Great Lent are urged to gradually introduce products of animal origin in their alimentation. The fat food of the Easter meal must be eaten moderately so as to prevent indigestion. Asked by IPN, nutritionist Corina Dascalu told how one can avoid indigestion during the Easter holidays, when the meals are copious.

“I consider one should start eating fatter food several days before Easter so that one can taste all the foods of the Easter meal by a little. But the tradition is tradition and if you fasted up to the last day, on Easter you should better not combine fat food. If you chose to eat more proteins, eat only meat or only fish together with salads of greens, not with eggs, meat and fish,” stated Corina Dascalu.

The nutritionist recommends preparing the food at home, from products made in the country, mainly season ones. “I think an almost perfect menu on Easter is: cake with tea in the morning and lamb for lunch, but together with greens. If you have other types of meat too, only taste some. For dinner, if you prepared fish, serve those who came to visit you with fish. Try to replace the many types of food with several ones,” said Corina Dascalu.

She noted that to avoid digestion-related problems, one should refrain from eating everything in one day. Easter is celebrated during three days and we can also eat meat jelly, forcemeat rolls of cabbage and other Moldovan traditional foods during other days of the 362 days of the year. The alcohol, meat, fish, salads with mayonnaise and other traditional foods are dangerous for health. Mayonnaise should be better substituted with yogurt or sour cream not fatter than 15%.

The nutritionist urged loving our body so as to strengthen immunity and avoid different diseases.
