The official coronavirus case count in Moldova has topped 464,000, as the Ministry of Health on Saturday reported nearly 4,000 new cases. The official death toll rose to 10,755.
There are currently over 3,000 patients being treated for coronavirus in Moldovan hospitals, including 187 in critical condition. More than 26,000 people with milder forms are looking after themselves at home.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, nearly 2,000 cases have been reported among pregnant women, and 55,000 cases among children.
During January 24-30, an incidence higher than 250 cases per 100,000 population was reported, prompting the authorities to issue a nationwide cod red alert.
Globally, the case count hit the 391 million mark, and the more than 5.7 million people died because of Covid.
