The number of new cases of COVID-19 has decreased, show statistics presented by officials in a meeting with Parliament Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi. The members of the Cabinet led by acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi consider this is due to the state of emergency, IPN reports.

The officials said that with the partial resumption of the education process, efforts should be now concentrated on the vaccination of teachers all over the country. “The security of the life and health is a key priority. In the eventuality of a new pandemic wave, efforts and maximum violence are further required,” Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi posted on Facebook.

The Cabinet members consider it is important to step up the immunization process. In this connection, it was discussed the process of supplying the public health system with new lots of COVID-19 vaccines.

The Democratic MPs also noted that the vaccination against COVID-19 remains the only possibility of saving lives and, in case of infection, of developing mild forms of disease. In this regard, the head of the Parliament’s commission on social protection, health and family, Democratic MP Gennady Buza made an approach to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, asking to hasten the inclusion of public servants and functionaries, such as mayors, district heads and deputy heads, into the COVID-19 vaccination list.
