The Moldovan authorities issued the Kremlin with a note of protest. In this regard, the Ambassador of Russia to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Ozerov will be summoned on Tuesday, IPN reports.

Sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told IPN that the Russian diplomat will be invited to the MFA to be handed over the note of protest in connection with the Russian Federation’s interference in the electoral process in the Republic of Moldova, and with the crash of Russian drones on the territory of our country on Sunday, November 10.

Oleg Ozerov was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Moldova two months ago, on September 10, by the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The former ambassador of Russia Oleg Vasnetsov had held the post since 2018.

Last week, Moldova’s Ambassador to Moscow Lilian Darii was summoned by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Darii was presented with a note of protest against the alleged "discriminatory actions of Chisinau towards Russian observers".

The Russian Foreign Ministry then mentioned that "on the eve of the first presidential round and the referendum of October 20, the Moldovan authorities refused without reason the accreditation of five observers from Russia, and before the November 3 election, three Russian members of the OSCE/ODIHR mission were not allowed to enter Moldova, through the Chisinau Airport, although they were accredited by the Central Election Commission of Moldova."
