Non-fulfillment of ECHR’s decision on Ilascu case to be discussed at PACE

The way the decisions of the European Court for Human Rights (ECHR) were respected, including on Ilascu vs Moldova and Russian Federation” case will be one of the issues which will be discussed at the autumn Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which will take place in Strasbourg during October 2-6. The agenda of the Assembly includes for the first day of discussion debates the situation in Balcani, with the participation of Albania’s prime-minister Sali Berish and his counterpart from Bosnia and Herzegovina Adnan Terzic. Subsequently the situation of Kosovo will be discussed within the frameworks of which the General Secretary of the Council of Europe, Terry Davis will present a declaration. Also the last evolutions of the of the situation in Lebanon and Middle East will, illegal migration in Europe and imgae of migrants in media will be discussed within the frameworks of PACE. Agenda also includes such issues as the cultural situation of Kurds, ratification of the Framework convention for the Protection of National Minorities, Council of Europe and Europe’s interest in Russia’s economical development. Serghei Lavrov, the minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation will present a statement on the behalf of the Council of Ministers of the Council of Europe. A parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Moldova will participate at PACE. As well, the speaker of the Parliament, Marian Lupu will pay a visit to Strasbourg where he willl meet with several European officials.
