Tiraspol has not yet reacted to the additional financial support from the European Union, announced on Tuesday in Chisinau. The €60 million is offered to the Transnistrian region in the context of the current crisis. The information was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, IPN reports.

"We do not have a reaction yet, but we are convinced that a reaction will be. We need to overcome this critical situation for the benefit of the citizens on both banks of the Nistru. We need this stability," said Oleg Serebrian.

The official also said that the future discussions will also focus on the observance of human rights in the region and was optimistic in this regard.

The additional support of €60 million would cover 70% of the social consumption that the left bank had before the crisis. The region will receive assistance if it works out a plan to update the energy charges, coordinated and accepted by the Government of the Republic of Moldova. Also, large companies, which export products, will have to pay market prices for energy, and industrial giants will have to be excluded from the support package. The Transnistrian administration will also need to take concrete actions to ensure respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
