Nine people who suffered in the accident on Alba Iulia street remain hospitalized

In the units of Emergency Medicine Institute (IMU), nine people remain hospitalized out of the 20 that were admitted on Monday, September 30, following the accident on Alba Iulia street, Buiucani sector of the capital. The information was provided during a press briefing by Igor Curov, IMU deputy medical director, IPN reports.

Igor Curov has announced that, in connection with the improvement of her health status, a 51-year-old woman has been transferred from intensive care to another unit, to continue the treatment. Another 38-year-old woman has undergone femoral surgery today. "The post-operative state corresponds to the post-operative indices," said Igor Curov.

As to the woman behind the wheel of the Porsche car, who caused the accident, the deputy director of IMU has said that she is still in intensive care. After the surgery on Monday, her condition has slightly stabilized, but it is not a significant improvement. The woman is connected to the mechanical ventilator. Upon stabilization of her condition, she will need surgery on her locomotor apparatus.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced today that the driver of the car was in a state of advanced alcohol intoxication (1.87g/l blood alcohol content).

The accident on Alba Iulia street took place on Monday, September 30, at around 2 pm, when a Porsche vehicle ran into a trolleybus full of passengers. Following the accident 28 people sought medical care. A man, passenger of the car, died on the spot.
