The declaring of a Moldovan diplomat persona non-grata by the authorities of the Russian Federation and the banning of a number of Moldovan officials from entering Russia are another hostile action on the part of this state alongside another precedents, Minster of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu stated in a news conference, being quoted by IPN.

According to the official, the Russian Federation during many years has resorted to hostile policies towards the Republic of Moldova, the Moldovan citizens, the economy, the country’s independence. This was manifested by supporting separatism, by supporting and keeping an illegal presence on the country’s territory, by imposing bans on products made in the Republic of Moldova, on wine, fruit and vegetables.

“In this connection, the Russian Federation continues these hostile measures that negatively affect the citizens of the Republic of Moldova,” stated Nicu Popsescu.

He reminded that last week, as a result of hostile actions taken by the Russian Federation in relation to the Republic of Moldova, a representative of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Chisinau was declared persona non-grata.

Moldova’s Ambassador in Moscow Lilian Darii was informed about the declaring of a Moldovan diplomat persona non-grata by the authorities of the Russian Federation and the banning of a number of Moldovan officials from entering Russia when he was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday morning.
