Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti had a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, whom he congratulated on the victory of the pro-European forces in the Ukrainian parliamentary elections. Nicolae Timofti said Moldova respects the Ukrainian people’s choice to follow the path to the EU, which is an area of democracy and social welfare, IPN reports.
According to the presidential press service, Nicolae Timofti wished Petro Poroshenko success in implementing the pro-European program of Ukraine and the plan for restoring the territorial unity of the neighboring country. The two heads of state agreed to develop relations of friendship and understanding between Moldova and Ukraine and to intensify cooperation in the European integration process.
Nicolae Timofti and Petro Poroshenko decided to have a meeting in the near future. The Ukrainian head of stage expressed readiness to pay a visit to Chisinau in November.
