Tens of lyceum and college graduates from different regions of Moldova on Monday queued up to submit the files to “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. They hope to be admitted on one of the 500 budget-funded places provided this year for bachelor’s and integrated studies. Twenty-five places are intended for candidates from the eastern districts of the country. The admission plan also envisions 628 contract places, IPN reports.

The University’s rector Emil Ceban said the number of budget-funded places has grown from 420 places before the COVID – 19 pandemic to 500 this year and these will be distributed to those who will go to work as doctors in districts after they graduate from the University. The fees depend on the program of study chosen by the candidates and vary from 19,300 lei to 42,300 lei. They remained practically unchanged, except for the Stomatology program, where the fees were raised due to the large investments made in this field and to the stiff admission contest there.

Vladislav Badan, of the admission commission, explained that the contest files can be submitted during a week, until July 31 inclusive. All the candidates can present the required documents in person at the central block of the University, to the admission commission, and also through the platform eadmitere.usmf.md.

This year, the candidates can contend for 500 budget-funded places and 628 contract places intended for Moldovans at three integrated programs of study, namely Medicine, Pharmacy, Stomatology, and at five bachelor’s programs of study, namely Radiological Technology, Optometry, Public Health, General Medical Assistance, and Physiokinetotherapy and Rehabilitation. Another 514 contract places are intended for foreigners.

The intermediary admission results will be published on the University’s website on August 1. The final contest will involve only candidates who presented the documents in the original.
