The promotion of Eugen Sturza to minister of defense was important for the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM), analyst Nicolae Negru said in the talk show “People’s Council” on 10TV channel, IPN reports.
“Is this a reward? I think the PPEM and PDM came to particular arrangements when that agreement between the two parties was signed. The PPEM, which is on the floating line, considers that if it has a minister, this will distinguish himself and will put Iurie Leanca’s party in a favorable light,” stated Nicolae Negru.
The analyst considers the leader of the PDM Vladimir Plahotniuc is in a critical point of the relations with the President also because Igor Dodon refuses to accept Eugen Sturza for the post of minister of defense. “He should take a decision and should solve the problem with Dodon once and for all. We will see what he does now. He has no other legal instruments than to request Parliament to initiate the impeachment of the President,” stated Nicolae Negru.
According to him, there is one more instrument about which they speak: Vladimir Plahotniuc could possess discrediting materials about Igor Dodon because the President didn’t react when the Government fielded Eugen Sturza again for minister of defense.
