Romania continues the in-depth dialogue with the Republic of Moldova in order to provide the official Chisinau with all the necessary support in the process of joining the European Union, the president of the Romanian Senate Nicolae Ciucă stated at a meeting with the head of the commission on foreign policy and European integration of Moldova’s Parliament Ina Coșeru. According to the Romanian official, it is mandatory to combat disinformation and manipulations that will be placed in the public space until October 20, when the presidential election will be held in Moldova, simultaneously with the referendum on European integration, IPN reports.
Nicolae Ciucă expressed his full confidence in the efforts made by President Maia Sandu, the Government and the Parliament to achieve the objectives to reform, develop and confirm the Republic of Moldova as a reliable partner at European and international level.
The president of the Romanian Senate highlighted the professional way in which the Moldovan authorities have managed the recent destabilization challenges, the security of the Republic of Moldova being a major priority for Romania and is essential in the regional context, being closely linked to the security of Ukraine.
“Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă assured his interlocutor that Romania will continue to provide support in order to strengthen the resilience of the Republic of Moldova, offering complex assistance, transfer of expertise and training in various areas, such as cybersecurity, emergency management, prevention and combating of arms trafficking and corruption,” reads a press release issued by the Senate of Romania.
