The chairman of the public organization “Consumer Protection” Piotr Gutul called upon the lawmakers to quit. He told a news conference that after attempts were made to hide what happened during hunting in the Domneasca Forest, the people no longer trust the authorities, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The prosecutor general is to blame for the fact that the killing was hidden. They should have called the competent bodies to investigate the case on the spot. Everybody knows that the main document during the elucidation of a crime is the report drawn up on the spot,” said Piotr Gutul, who earlier worked in the internal affairs bodies. According to Piotr Gutul, the relatives of Sorin Paciu, who died after he was wounded during the hunting, sent a letter to the “Consumer Protection” organization, asking conducting an impartial investigation into the December 23 hunting that involved judges and other high-ranking officials. “The case was hidden because that hunting involved persons with important posts. The people do not trust the authorities anymore,” said Piotr Gutul. He avoided saying the name or relation degree of the persons who sought help from the organization, arguing that they asked for anonymity. According to Piotr Gutul, his colleagues who have work experience at the Ministry of the Interior will look for proofs at the place of the accident. “We promised Paciu’s relatives that we will carry out an investigation, but we are not sure that we will be able to find out who is to blame. It is the Prosecutor’s Office that must ensure an impartial investigating,” said the chairman of the NGO. Piotr Gutul believes that if politician Sergiu Mocanu hadn’t found out about this case, the authorities wouldn’t have launched an investigation. The tragic hunting took place at the end of December, but the general public found out about it almost two weeks later. Sergiu Mocanu accused Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko of the killing. The Prosecutor General’s Office started a criminal case over unintentional murder and indicted former vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu.
