Any economic entity will be able to collect the statistical data needed to take well-informed decisions about potential markets to which they could export products owing to the application Help Desk. This also offers the necessary information about the package of documents required for exporting. The software, created by the European Commission, was presented within a workshop designed for the producer groups that were recently set up within the MAC-P Project and other companies that want to export, IPN reports.

The participants in the workshop were familiarized with the way the Help Desk application works and listened to the EU Delegation’s information on the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement.

“The presentation of the new economic and commercial opportunities represents the key to the diversification of markets and modification of the sales strategy in the case of the Moldovan producers. We reiterated those advantages that are often avoided by the economic entities of Moldova either because they don’t know about them or do not want to enter new markets except for the Eastern ones. We hope the EU Delegation’s support in this regard will be successfully used by the Moldovan economic entities,” said Speranta Olaru, project coordinator at the EU Delegation to Moldova.

In the same event, the National Foot Safety Agency presented the simplified procedure for obtaining the phytosanitary certificate needed on export. The representatives of companies put questions about the procedure and the package of documents needed for being issued with the phytosanitary certificate.

The workshop was staged by the European Business Association of Moldova (EBA Moldova) with financial support from the World Bank-funded Moldova Agricultural Competitiveness Project MAC-P, in partnership with the EU Delegation to Moldova and the National Foot Safety Agency.

In this connection, the EBA Moldova pledged to provide the assistance needed for holding seminars designed to help the groups of producers of Moldova to enter new markets. Seminars were already staged on the organization of sales, negotiation of international contacts and the requirements on the European market.
