Veronica Mihailov Moraru was appointed, by government decision, State Secretary to the Ministry of Justice, IPN reports.
During her introduction, the Minister of Justice, Olesea Stamati, mentioned that Veronica Mihailov Moraru was a jurist, lawyer and in this capacity she was the author of several reports and publications in the field of law. She has become known due to promoting respect for human rights and involvement in several working groups set up to change the legal framework, in particular as regards the right to a fair trial, combating torture, ensuring freedom and security of the person. She is one of the lawyers who represented Moldovan citizens in the diaspora when their voting rights were violated at the 2016 presidential elections.
As member of the Association of Women Lawyers of Moldova, she has been active in promoting the rights of women lawyers to social and medical protection.
