Roman Babitchi, the husband of the businesswoman who died during a cosmetic procedure at a beauty parlor in Chisinau, has leveled new accusations about the investigation into the case. He criticized the actions of the investigator and the lawyer who initially represented him, saying that the lack of swift action led to the loss of crucial evidence, IPN reports.

Babitchi drew attention to the fact that the salon, where the tragedy occurred, was not sealed immediately after the death. Moreover, he claims that a person from Ukraine had removed the equipment from the parlor the next morning without the authorities intervening. He also raised questions about the lack of an immediate hearing of Irina Barotkina, the owner of the salon, who Babitchi says is now in Spain.

During the briefing, the man also leveled accusations at the lawyer who represented him at the start of the case and said she had urged him to make false statements about the disappearance of money from his wife's bag. "I quickly realized that the lawyer was making me give false statements and I gave up his services as a lawyer," Roman Babitchi said.

The victim's husband argues that the passage of time is working against getting to the truth and has launched a public appeal to those who witnessed what happened. He is urging them to come forward, even anonymously, to help solve the case. "Please give me the chance to do justice," said the deceased woman's husband.

The 35-year-old businesswoman died on January 30 during a procedure at a salon in the center of the capital. According to public reports, she died following a general anesthesia and the owner of the practice left the country right after the tragedy. Doctor Ecaterina Maniuc, suspected of administering the anaesthetic, was detained on 7 February.

The authorities are still investigating, but the victim's husband says there is a cover-up and calls for the culprits to be held to account.
